Lafayette, Louisiana – The Annual LASTEM Summit is returning to the Cajundome in Lafayette on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. This statewide event brings together K-12 students, educators, higher education professionals, STEM workforce representatives, and anyone interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Attendees can expect a day filled with engaging activities, including STEM-related presentations, teacher workshops, robotics and Esports demonstrations, and opportunities to connect with educational outreach organizations.
Esports Spotlight
One of the highlights of the LASTEM Summit will be the Esports presentations.
- 9:15 AM – 10:00 AM: Esports: It’s more than just videogames! Presented by Jeffrey Harrison.
- 10:15 AM – 11:00 AM: Yes, you can play Minecraft in class! Aligning Gaming to Instructional Content presented by Adrieanne Moliere.
In addition to these presentations, LASEF will be hosting an Esports tournament featuring schools from across the state. Participants will compete in Rocket League, Super Smash Bros, and Mario Kart.
